My Comment:
Hi Shirly
If your dog has a liver problem I would also recommend some kind of an veterinary diet if his liver enzymes are increased. In that case you can try for example Royal Canin liver diet to see if there is any difference.
The liver might also react on his thyroid condition. When the thyroid hormones are more normal it could be wise to check the liver enzymes again to see if the have been normalized again.
It is the liver which decides the foods really. You can try other foods as long the liver is OK.
Now, I haven't seen you dog and I am sure you have a very skilled vet. I just wonders if your vet. have considered other diseases as well. Always being hungry can also be a sign of Chushings disease or diabetes.
Often there is more symptoms than the appetite.
In Chushings you might see increased appetite, increased thirst and increased abdominal seize.
Diabetes is almost the same as you see increased appetite and thirst but also weight loss despite the increased appetite. You can also see eyes going gray because of cataract.
As I said your vet is properly very skilled and I don't have the whole picture so my thoughts might be totally wrong - just a thought though.
If there is no apparently reason for choosing any veterinary diet you - as I said before - can try another diet. As always I am very fond of Orijen, that's one possibility. More protein will make him less hungry.
You might also try Royal Canin Intestinal for his bowel movements to see if they improve if he for some reason have a problem with the increased protein content in Orijen.
All the best
