Coat improvement

(Norway)

I am just wondering what is the best supplement or vitamin to help improve coat condition as quickly as possible after the dog has lost its coat. Someone suggested Vitamin B tonic, another has suggested Biotin, and I was also wondering about Omega 3. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hi Ros

I recommend Omega 3 as a good skin supplement.

Traditionally B vitamins has been used as well. I normally give it as an injection. I use it mainly in dogs shedding a lot, and often it do help according to many owners.

Omega 3 is very important in the health of the skin.

In Norway it should be possible to find the danish dog food brand "specific" at your local vet. They have a special Omega diet for dogs and is perfect - its called "C omega D"

The food contain lots of DHP and EPA ready for use and is packet in a oxygen free bags, being able to have higher levels of omega 3 than normal for dog food.

You can use this food for a period of weeks to few months and see a great result.

Try this dog food and try some kind of b vitamin injection from your local vet.

All the best
