The Ultimate Guide to Dog Health

Book about Dog Diseases and Symptoms

My review of Malcolm's e-book The Ultimate Guide to Dog Health;Guide to Dog Diseases and Symptoms.

dog health

I have never seen any thing like this book. Normally I am absolutely no big fan of e books and certainly the sales pages of e-books can turn me off.

And reading this sales pages was no different - on the other side, something caught me. Most important the explanation of what is normal health in dogs i got curious about. That's important to know and is the main reason why I bought it.

I am happy I did!

After reading this book I could see its potential as a tool to you as a dog owner. It is really "easy-to-follow step by step guide".

My Review

"The Ultimate Guide to Dog Health" is written by a veterinarian named Malcolm Fields.

The book is 240 pages and divided in three main chapters:

  • What is normal?
  • Maintaining Canine Health
  • Common Canine Health Problems

The first chapter have many pleasant and easy to understand illustrations. I really like that. This chapter can help you to know whats normal. Anatomy of the dog is well "walked tru" The chapter how do you recognize pain is worth for you to read.

For example, this is from the book "Slightly flattened and partially back ears indicate anxiety and pain"

The second part is focused mainly on Maintaining Canine Health. Vaccinations and worms is very well explained. How do you choose a veterinarian was interesting for me (being a vet) to read.

The nutrition chapter is no disappointment. Easy written explanation of the most basic nutritional facts. So, yes I like this too.

But the last chapter i find most use full.

Third part: Common Canine Health Problems. Here you find help on dog diseases and symptoms.

On the negative side -in this chapter you do not find many illustrations. Pictures of other dogs is what you get and - well, they are cute. But I would have liked to see more use full illustrations in the part as well.

Otherwise, text and flow of information is great. It is a big subject to make a easy step by step approach for you in determining the severity of a disease. No, you do not become a vet. But, I am really amazed how they have succeeded in making this chapter easy to follow.

I am confident that every dog owner can benefit from reading this part. Illustrations or not, this should not keep you from buying this book.

You get some extras as well. Book on "Gourmet recipes for your Dog" and a book on First Aid is worth to mention.

So if you really seeking a helpfull book - This could really be one. Ultimate Guide to Dog Health is absolutely worth the money and a good book on dog diseases and symptoms.
