Eating poop

My sister's chihuahua is on a premium dog food but has the bad habit of eating his own poop or other dogs or cats poop.I thought they did this when they were eating a poor quality food. She has tried different top 10 dog foods,but he still does this,and they are on mine and yours top 10 list,so I know they are good quality. Is there other reasons for this? Do you have any advice to stop this? Thank you in advance.

I don't think it can have anything to do with the lack of nutrients as you have tried so many different top dog foods.

I consider a behavioral problem to be more likely. But before you can be sure I would do a checkup for intestinal parasites.

The behavioral problem is difficult for me to guide you on, but it should be possible to find information from some one knowing much more about this than I do on the net.

Something I recommend to my clients, is use of pineapple juice in the dog food.

Just add a small tablespoon or so as a topping on his food. This should make the stool less attractive to him.
