Eugene Bean's Mom

by Stacy
(Atlanta)

My dog has recently been suffering from what the doctor thinks is food related allergies. He has been on a diet of nothing but Tiliapia for about 6 weeks now. I noticed that he poops every 5 days and when he does it look like chocolate pudding. In the last 6 weeks he has been on Temeril-P, Prednisone and Benadryl. Currently he's not taking any medications but my question to you is should be supplementing his Tiliapia Fish Diet with a Probiotic? and if so...is there a grain free brand on the market that you would recommend? Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Have a wonderful day!

My Comment:

Thank you

Is he any better?

Probiotics is always good as supplements. No risks at all using them.

Regarding his feces it is absolutely worth to try as it doesn't sound normal. Probiotics might help regulate his stomach so the feces becomes more normal.

One grain feed diet I recommend is Orijen from Canada.

If it works well in your dog its difficult to know before testing it. You can do this and I use to recommend to introduce it very slowly to see if any unwanted reactions becomes a problem.

All the best to you
