Fluoride

by Danny Seymore
(Heber Springs, Arkansas)

I just read a scary e-mail from DVM Andrew Jones. He said 10 dry kibbles were tested and 8 of them contained extreme amounts of fluoride. Chicken meal was one of the contributors.Any thoughts or comments? Thank you Danny Joe

My Comment:

It is most likely the investigation from Environmental Working Group.

I didn't have any information about this!

I am very grateful for you to ask for my comment regarding this subject.

I have no comments in the moment other than i am very surprised.

This is very important to find out the importance in the future.

The toxic levels of fluoride is not established in dogs. So they might be more "resistant" than humans. But this is something needs to be done in the future.

If you - reading this - have any personal dog health experiences where fluoride might be a problem please come forward and let us know.

I will try to see if some information regarding fluoride content in the dog food brands i have on my clinic is possible to find.

I'll do some more research and writ about it on this site.

Thank you

DVM Per Schonbeck
