Dear Sir/Madam

How much calcium in grams does the below extract from your website mean please?

During lactation and growth peaks 1.0-1.8% of the diet should be calcium?

I am home feeding my 5 month old spoodle, and supplementing him with 2 grams of Bal Cal Powder which contains 726 grams of calcium. I'm not sure he is getting enough calcium.

My Comment.

Hi Natalie

Spoodle is a small breed and therefore not grow that fast.
But I am still very care full to recommend any calcium supplement as it need to be balanced with phosphorus as well.
I am not aware if the supplement you are using has any phosphorus in it or only consisting of calcium.
The age he is in now is important as the intestines absorb all calcium from the food. They can’t regulate the uptake according to the need. That's why it is extra important not to give too much calcium in this age.
What I do have on my webb site, is and recipe for a balanced puppy diet for small to medium breeds containing CAL bone meal and it should be balanced in its calcium and phosphorus amounts.
