Raw Dog Food Question

by Danny Seymore
(Heber Springs,Arkansas)

Do you think it is ok to feed my dog raw chicken thighs or raw chicken legs?

My Comment:

In Denmark (where I am born) we had big problems with salmonella in chicken.

Another bacteria is campylobacter found i chicken and for humans it is very important to cook chicken properly.

Dogs might be different of cause, but this is the reason why I'm not that fond of feeding with raw chicken.

No, I can't recommend it.

I can't recommend any bones either. And some cooking of the meat - boiling for example, would make it more safe.

I like the idea of feeding raw. I can see the point!!

But as a veterinarian i can't really recommend it in general.

With some modifications - light cooked "raw" food is better and safe (in my opinion).
