My Comment:

Hi Chris

This food I don't know from real life. I don't think you can buy it here in Sweden.

The lamb formula, the only one containing lamb is the "Sierra Mountain Formula" containing lamb meat and lamb meal.

There is no grain in the food which I find positive. The amount of protein is OK but it is not a high protein dog food.
A sign of quality is the presence of probiotics.....positive to.

But if there is something slightly negative I would like to have omega 3 from fish in it. The omega 6 omega 3 ration is 8:1 which is a bit high. And the omega oils are from rapeseed, which in my opinion is less effective compared to fish oil omega 3.

Calcium content is a little too high, but not much. Normally it is recommended not going higher than 1,5% calcium (here we have 1,6%) so watching the growth rate is very very important. But this is always important in a German Shepperd dogs.

I normally tell my clients to weigh the dog every 3-4 weeks and the growth should not exceed 1 kg pr week (about 2 lbs per week) on average.
So, I recommend you to keep an eye on from now on.

Another measure is the weight at 6 months. This weight should not be more that 50% of the estimated fully grown weight.

So, to sum up - the Omega and Calcium is what comes to my attention. The omega can be helped by adding some fish oil omega to the diet.

Otherwise the food looks interesting to me.

All the best

Taste/Wild
by: Siri

I know this is dog nutrition..but I used taste of the wild for cats...they're energy is amazing..especially my 14 year old. I have a 1-2 year old puppy/dog and have just bought Taste of the Wild...I was getting it at Natural Food Stores...but Ace Hardware carries it too at a cheaper price.

Preservatives
by: Danny Jo Seymore

I considered this dog food and found a couple of negatives. I think this food is made by Diamond, they may have had some food recalls and has been accused of maybe using Ethoxyquin as a preservative. Ethoxyquin has been reported to maybe cause cancer. This is just my opinion of my studies on the internet.
